Inquiry to hear final suspected gay hate death case

On 10 October 2023, Counsel Assisting will present, in a public proceeding of the Inquiry, a further documentary tender case.

The death of Ernest Head will be the subject of this proceeding. This case will be presented at 10am on Tuesday 10 October 2023.

Counsel Assisting will tender a comprehensive set of the evidentiary material relevant to the case and will make a detailed submission which will include recommendations as to the finding which the Commissioner should make as to the manner and cause of death.

The proceeding will be at the Chief Secretary’s Building, Level 2, 121 Macquarie Street, Sydney. It is open to the public and will be livestreamed via the Inquiry’s website.

The Honourable Justice John Sackar will preside at the hearing. Counsel Assisting the Inquiry will be Kathleen Heath.
